Keane & Beane Secures Land Use Approvals for CarMax in Dutchess County

Keane & Beane Land Development & Zoning Team Members Jennifer L. Gray and Richard L. O’Rourke successfully secured Land Use Entitlements for re-development of two key properties in the Hudson Valley. Representing CarMax, the Nation’s largest retailer of pre-owned cars, Richard O’Rourke and Jennifer Gray teamed up to obtain approvals for a CarMax Superstore on heavily traveled NYS Route 9 in the Town Of Wappinger, Dutchess County. For nearly a decade, opposition to prior attempts to re-develop the 7.5 acre vacant former Plant Depot site delayed redevelopment. CarMax is pleased to soon have this highly visible presence in the Hudson Valley. Approvals were also obtained for Bluewater Property Group’s redevelopment of the abandoned Hopewell Sports Dome Complex project located on the former IBM West Campus in East Fishkill. 41.36 acres will be re-developed with a 540,688 square foot warehouse. Mr. O’Rourke and Ms. Gray previously represented Bluewater, a highly successful logistics sector developer on the 650,000 square foot Amazon warehouse now nearing completion at the Lime Kiln Road Exit from Interstate I-84 in East Fishkill.
