On Wednesday, June 3, 2020 (6:00 pm – 8:00 pm), Nicholas M. Ward-Willis will lead the presentation of the Dutchess County Planning Federation Webinar “The 5G Wireless Revolution – Pointers and Pitfalls for Land Use Board” a primer on wireless technology in New York State providing guidance on processing applications for small cell wireless telecommunications facilities and FCC eligible facility requests. The presentation will also provide statutory, regulatory and legal updates in the area of wireless telecommunications technology, including a discussion of the FCC’s Small Cell Order, adopted September 26, 2018. Michael Musso, of HDR, Inc., who provides technical guidance to land use boards in the Hudson Valley, will provide technical insight into wireless telecommunications facilities and small cell technologies including the anticipated roll-out of 5G technology in the region. Participants will gain a better understanding of what to expect with small cell wireless development and 5G services, and the benefits and problems that will accompany the 5G Wireless Revolution.
