On September 1, 2015, Keane & Beane, P.C. acting as pro bono co-counsel for an indigent Petitioner, in conjunction with attorneys from the Legal Services of the Hudson Valley, obtained an Order from the Westchester County Surrogates Court on behalf of Petitioner revoking letters of administration improperly issued to a third-party based upon allegations that the third-party was ineligible due to her marital status, dishonest conduct and other factors. Surrogate Sall immediately removed the third-party as administrator and recognizing our client’s urgent need for relief allowed Petitioner to be named as administrator of his brother’s estate. This result will allow Petitioner to remain in his brother’s apartment, which was the sole asset of his brother’s estate.
Christopher Aventuro, Esq. and Eric Gordon, Esq. acted as lead counsel in this proceeding.
