Judson Siebert represents clients in state and federal courts in matters involving land use, municipal, real property, real property tax assessment, landlord/tenant and commercial issues. Mr. Siebert appears before and represents local zoning and planning boards throughout southeastern New York State in connection with residential, commercial, biomedical wireless communication, sewer and water utility and public purpose projects. He represents commercial and residential developers, real estate management concerns, Fortune 500 companies, private utilities, wireless communication companies, municipalities and municipal boards.
Mr. Siebert has successfully represented clients in lawsuits impacting land use practice throughout New York State. As an example, he argued Real Holding Corp. v. Lehigh before the New York State Court of Appeals. This significant zoning decision confirms the right of a property owner to seek area variance relief from special use permit dimensional requirements. He also served as counsel in Cellular Telephone Co. v. Rosenberg, in which the New York State Court of Appeals recognized that a wireless communication provider should be treated as a public utility for zoning purposes.
Mr. Siebert joined Keane & Beane in 1985 following his graduation from law school.
Mr. Siebert has lectured on zoning, real property and municipal issues at programs sponsored by the New York State Bar Association, Pace Law School Continuing Legal Education, the New York State Association of Towns and the Westchester Municipal Planning Federation.
Mr. Siebert is Vice President and a Trustee of the Somers Education Foundation. He also is a Board Member of Pace Law School Alumni Association.
