James Borkowski is a trial attorney whose law practice is focused on litigation at the trial and appellate levels in State and Federal Court. He represents insurance carriers, corporations and individuals in construction claims, personal injury and commercial litigation. A former prosecutor, Mr. Borkowski has served as lead trial counsel in more than 100 cases over the past 34 years of practice in every county from Suffolk County to Sullivan County, including the five counties comprising New York City. He is retained as trial counsel and trial consultant by other law firms.
Mr. Borkowski holds an “AV-Distinguished” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and is rated as having the “highest level of excellence” in legal ability and legal ethics. He served as Town Justice in the Town of Southeast, NY from 1998 to 2009. He joined Keane & Beane in 2003.
Mr. Borkowski is a certified Criminal Justice Instructor, and has taught cadets at the Westchester Police Academy.
Mr. Borkowski is a regular participant in The Hudson River Swim for Life across the Hudson River. He formerly served as a Trustee of The Melrose School in Brewster, NY and as a Vestryman with the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Somers.
