On April 27-28 and May 6-7, 2026, Sharon Berlin and Rich Zuckerman will present at the New York Association of Towns‘ 26th Annual Town Finance & Personnel School, providing updates on labor and employment law cases that impact municipalities in New York State.
The New York Association of Towns (NYAOT) was formed in 1933 to discuss the Kirkland Bill, which eventually came to be known as New York Town Law. From that group, 20 towns paid the first dues to establish the Association of Towns, as way of uniting town governments across the state and preserving town government. In more modern years, that history and mission has evolved to advocate on behalf of towns’ rights (Home Rule) at the state and federal levels; provide a comprehensive education to all town officials and be a resource and source of connection for New York State towns and town officials. NYAOT support NYS local government by providing training and certification, research and information services, legal and technical training, insurance programs and a variety of publications to member towns.
