On July 25, 2024, Stephanie M. Roebuck will present Keeping Pace with Changing Times and New Realities at the New York State School Boards Association 2024 Summer Law Conference. The virtual conference is a two-day program that will discuss recent changes in law and regulations affecting the operation of public schools and trends emerging from the implementation and enforcement of school district legal rights and responsibilities in New York and key rulings from the commissioner of education and the courts, their impact on those rights and responsibilities, and other evolving legal issues. Stephanie M. Roebuck represents numerous public school districts as General Counsel, Labor Counsel and Special Education Counsel in Westchester and Rockland Counties, NY. She regularly handles school litigation matters in both state and federal courts, appeals to the Commissioner of Education, impartial special education hearings under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Education Law, employee disciplinary proceedings pursuant to the Education Law and Civil Service Law and discrimination and/or retaliation claims before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and State Division of Human Rights.
