On November 4, 2021, Keane & Beane Members Lance H. Klein and Jaclyn G. Goldberg will present “How to Handle GML Section 207-c Claims” at the Second Annual New York State Association of Chiefs of Police/New York State Sheriffs Association Leadership Summit, providing an overview of the requirements outlined in General Municipal Law (GML) Section 207-c and recommendations on drafting and negotiating GML Section 207-c and Light Duty Polices and how to process, investigate and, when necessary, challenge claims for GML Section 207-c benefits.
Lance H. Klein provides counsel and training to clients in a wide array of labor and employment issues, including disability, retirement, wage and hour laws as well as regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act. He has conducted various employment related investigations including employee misconduct, sexual harassment and harassment claims. Mr. Klein routinely represents clients in arbitrations held pursuant to the rules of the New York State Public Employment Relations Board and the American Arbitration Association and serves as labor counsel to Police Chiefs Association of Rockland County and the Mid-Hudson Association Chiefs of Police.
Jaclyn G. Goldberg serves as General Counsel and Labor Counsel to numerous public school districts in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Nassau Counties, NY as well as represents clients in arbitrations held pursuant to the rules of the New York State Public Employment Relations Board and the American Arbitration Association. She also concentrates her practice on the defense of police misconduct, malicious prosecution and false arrest. She provides counsel training to clients on a wide variety of labor and employment issues and has conducted various employment related investigations including harassment and employee misconduct.
