As Keane & Beane, P.C. celebrates its 40th Anniversary, so does our Office Manager, Barbara S. Durkin. After graduating from Berkeley Secretarial School in 1980, Ms. Durkin joined Keane & Beane, then a newly formed firm, as a legal secretary. In 1985, Ms. Durkin was promoted to Office Manager and throughout the years has ably assisted and supervised the Firm as it expanded to three locations, 28 attorneys and a support staff of 9, not to mention its consistent staff of summer interns and law students. Most notably, in her 40th year, 2020, she has been instrumental in getting the Firm through the COVID-19 pandemic and transitioning us all through not only the work at home phase, but transitioning back into reopening.
She is currently, and has been for the past 15 years, the President of the Westchester County Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators.
Barbara, a lifelong Orange County resident, states that “80 miles a day, 22,000 trips over the Tappan Zee Bridge and a few new cars have been well worth the years of hard work, fun and memories — which are not over just yet”.
