Schurkman Assists Seniors through Information Line

Principal Member Steven A. Schurkman is contributing his expertise to the “Senior Information Line,” a joint project of the New York State Consumer Protection Board, the New York State Office of Aging and the Weinberg Center for Elder Abuse Prevention at the Hebrew Home in Riverdale. The Senior Information Line allows callers from across New York State to access news, updates and information about legal and health related topics of interest to seniors. Steve has prepared the text for the Information Line relating to changes in New York’s Power of Attorney law. Other topics which the Senior Information Line has covered include, for example, how to reduce identity theft and how to avoid telephone and internet scams. The Senior Information Line can be accessed on-line at www.nysconsumer.gov or by dialing 1-800-503-9000 and is available in English and Spanish.
