Professional Experience

Suzanne E. Volpe is an Education and Municipal Law attorney who provides General Counsel services to numerous public school districts and municipalities in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Dutchess Counties, NY.  Ms. Volpe provides advice to boards of education and school district administrators regarding all aspects of school district operations, including board governance matters, business office matters, contracts, compliance with FOIL and the open meetings law, residency and transportation issues, educational programming, student disciplinary hearings and matters regarding students with disabilities. She represents school districts in litigation before administrative tribunals and both federal and state courts, as well as in appeals to the Commissioner of Education. Ms. Volpe also represents municipal clients in real property tax litigation, and issues related to real property tax administration and the formulation of tax abatement and payment in lieu of tax agreements. On behalf of the firm’s municipal clients, Ms. Volpe prosecutes local court enforcement matters and provides counsel regarding same.

Ms. Volpe joined the firm in 2008 after serving as an agency attorney intern at the Administration for Children’s Services of New York.
