


Michael Lambert represents public school districts as General Counsel, Labor Counsel and Special Education Counsel in Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester, Counties, NY. He joined Keane & Beane, P.C. in 2026 with over 30 years’ experience representing school districts. After serving in the Marine Corps, Mr. Lambert practiced for five years in the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, then served as House Counsel to the Wappingers Central School District. For the past 28 years, he has represented school districts throughout the region in all aspects of general counsel and labor relations services, including special education counsel and litigation, negotiations, Section 3214 Education Law student disciplinary proceedings and general litigation. His current focus is upon serving our clients in the areas of general counsel, special education and other student-related issues. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Marine Corps Reserve.
Mr. Lambert teaches at Bank Street College and lectures for the New York State School Boards Association, New York State Association of School Attorneys, Long Island University, and numerous State and local organizations on a variety of issues, including special education matters, Title IX, investigations, student discipline, and the Freedom of Information Law.
