Construction Law
Keane & Beane handles a wide variety of construction issues on behalf of owners, contractors, subcontractors and construction managers throughout the entire building process. We negotiate architect and construction management agreements, draft and review specifications and general/supplementary conditions, counsel clients on bidding procurement, surety and worksite issues and provide general legal assistance. We regularly represent public and private sector clients in state and federal court actions and mediation and arbitration proceedings involving construction-related disputes. We have extensive experience related to:
- The Lien Law of the State of New York, particularly regarding both enforcing and challenging mechanics' liens
- Green Building practices - Nicholas Ward-Willis is Co-Chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Real Property Law Section Committee on Green Real Estate.
We serve as General Counsel to several construction industry companies and our attorneys are active in the field. For example, Joel Sachs is on the American Arbitration Association’s Construction Industry Panel and has taught construction law at Pace University School of Law.

Our Construction Law practice works collaboratively with related practices – Land Development & Zoning, Real Estate, Environmental Law – to move a project through its entire life cycle, from land acquisition to permitting through construction.
