Together with other members and associates in the firm, Stephanie M. Roebuck represents numerous public school districts as General Counsel, Labor Counsel and Special Education Counsel in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Nassau Counties, NY. She regularly handles school litigation matters in both state and federal courts, appeals to the Commissioner of Education, impartial special education hearings under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Education Law, employee disciplinary proceedings pursuant to the Education Law and Civil Service Law and discrimination and/or retaliation claims before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and State Division of Human Rights. She also represents school districts and other municipalities with regard to labor relations from negotiation of labor contracts for all types of bargaining units to improper practice proceedings and arbitrations. Ms. Roebuck joined Keane & Beane in 1998 from a law firm in Rochester, NY.

Professional Activities/Publications
Ms. Roebuck is an Adjunct Professor at Manhattanville College teaching a graduate level course on school law. She was previously an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University and at the College of New Rochelle. She has been a frequent lecturer at various conferences and seminars on labor and employment law and education law issues, including “Legal Ethics: Social Networking, Blogging and More” (New York State Bar Association, 2010); "Back to School: Bullying and Cyber-Bulling Legal Primer 101” (Westchester Women’s Bar Association, 2010) and “Teacher Layoffs – Don’t Get Lost in the Legal Maze” (New York State School Boards Association, 2010).
Community Service
Ms. Roebuck is a former Member of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of the Hudson Valley and was its Corporate Secretary from 2003 to 2007.
