Together with other members and associates in the firm, Lawrence Praga acts as General Counsel to numerous public school districts in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Nassau Counties, NY. Mr. Praga acts as chief spokesperson for public school districts in collective bargaining negotiations and advises school districts, as well as other public entities, in all phases of construction, including specifications, architect and construction management agreements, bidding, change orders, arbitrations and litigations. Mr. Praga also handles school litigation matters before the courts as well as appeals to the Commissioner of Education. Additionally, he advises the firm’s clients in all aspects of municipal law, including bidding, Freedom of Information and Open Meetings Law issues, contracts and real estate.
From 1979 to 1984, Mr. Praga served as First Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Binghamton, NY. From 1984 to 1986, he was the Town Attorney for the Town of Yorktown, NY. Since 1991, Mr. Praga has served as Planning Board attorney for the Town of Lewisboro, NY and as special counsel to a number of other municipalities in New York. He joined Keane & Beane in 1993 with several years of experience in representing school districts and other municipalities.
