Ronald Longo practices in the areas of education law and public sector labor law. He serves s General Counsel to numerous school districts and public libraries and also serves as Special Labor Counsel to municipalities. He has served as Assistant Town Attorney for labor matters and negotiations for the Town of Clarkstown, New York since 1985. Prior to that, he served the Town as Special Counsel.
Mr. Longo has been a frequent lecturer at seminars sponsored by the New York State Bar Association, the Public Employment Relations Board and various school board associations on issues related to education law and public sector labor law. He also has taught graduate level education law courses at Iona College and Fordham University. Mr. Longo is a past President of the New York State Public Employer Labor Relations Association and is an Independent Hearing Officer certified by the Commissioner of Education to hear disputes involving students with disabilities.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Longo was employed in municipal labor relations and as a public school personnel administrator.
Mr. Longo is a member of the New York State Bar, the Bar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
