Professional Biography

Edward F. Beane co-founded Keane & Beane, P.C. in May 1980.  His practice focuses on labor and employment, commercial and federal litigation, zoning and land use and municipal law.  Mr. Beane's practice includes serving as trial and appellate counsel for public and private sector clients in state and federal courts, before federal and state administrative agencies and in arbitrations.  He also has represented public and private sector clients before municipal boards and public agencies including the National Labor Relations Board, the United States Department of Labor, the New York State Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the Environmental Protection Agency, the New York State Department of Environmental Protection Agency, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and various county and local municipal boards and agencies.

Mr. Beane has served as Village Attorney of the Village of Rye Brook, and as special counsel for the Village of Rye Brook and other municipalities, including the Village of Dobbs Ferry, the Village of Port Chester and the Town of Carmel.  He currently manages Keane & Beane, P.C.'s role as Village Attorney of the Village of Rye Brook.

Mr. Beane has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Center of New York, Inc. and as its counsel since its inception in 1981.  He is currently a member of the Executive Board of the Federal and Commercial Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association.  He also serves on several committees of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and Westchester County Bar Association.

Mr. Beane regularly conducts seminars on various labor and employment law and federal and commercial litigation topics for the Westchester County Bar Association, Pace University, New York State Bar Association and other professional associations.  He also serves as a pro bono advocate in the Southern District of New York's pro se litigation program for labor and employment matters.
